Leale’s RV, one of the West Coast’s largest and most comprehensive RV service and repair facilities, grew out of a small family automotive business in San Jose, CA. Leale’s Auto and Transmission Repair was started in 1963 by James Leale, Senior.

His son, Jim Leale, Jr. began working in the shop in his early teens and took over the auto and transmission business when his father retired in 1999. As the original auto business continued to grow, and RVs were getting more and more popular, Leale’s stepped up to address the growing demand for their service and repair by opening a second shop for heavy duty trucks and RVs. In 2010, the company expanded again, combining RV, boat, and auto storage with the growing RV service and repair business. The 100,000-foot facility now also includes a collision center that can handle even the largest RVs.
